TIMOTHY KILBOURNE

Tim Kilbourne began working at IALR in May of 2023. Kilbourne works in Abingdon, Virginia, as the Region 1 Training Coordinator for the Great Opportunities in Technology and Engineering Careers (GO TEC™) program. In this position, he is responsible for training GO TEC teachers, installing and maintaining equipment, and implementing the GO TEC curriculum in the region. Before he arrived at IALR, Kilbourne worked 15 years as a teacher, spending time in Kindergarten, 5th grade, and Technology Education classrooms. He also served as a LEGO robotics coach for elementary and middle school students for six years. Kilbourne received a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary English (Pre-K – 8th Grade) from Emory and Henry College, where he graduated in 2008. Kilbourne grew up in Chattanooga and Johnson City, TN.
