Janelle Brooks serves as the Program Manager for the Great Opportunities in Technology and Engineering Careers Program. Brooks has over 30 years of experience in education as a public school teacher for students with learning and behavioral problems, as a secondary supervisor for multiple schools aligning, coordinating, and developing learning experiences for students and teachers, and has been a building level principal in both the private and public sectors of K-12 education for 15 years. Prior to accepting this position, Brooks served as Principal at a career and technical education center in Northwestern Virginia for 13 years. She is excited to have returned to the Danville–Pittsylvania County area to work as part of the GO TEC team to strategically establish and expand talent pathways for K-12 students. Brooks holds degrees from Danville Community College, Radford University, Lynchburg University and has also completed postgraduate work at the University of Virginia in Educational Leadership.
