Anthony Putorek started his love for technology in high school, learning Basic, Fortran, COBOL and Pascal. In 1991, Mr. Putorek accepted an IT position doing network support for the NASDAQ Stock Market.
Mr. Putorek advanced by acquiring a series of industry-recognized IT certifications that included MCP, MCSE, CCNA, and Linux+ to name a few. That began a 30+ year career of network design, implementation and support for the likes of the EPA, IRS, Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, IBM, Toshiba, Dominion Semiconductors and the NH Electric Coop. Mr. Putorek had the privilege of successfully managing his own IT Consulting business with a staff of technicians, as well as a downtown storefront providing sales and support of PC’s, laptops and customer training.
Seven years ago Mr. Putorek sold that business for the opportunity to join Microsoft’s datacenter support team. He started as a datacenter manager and quickly became responsible for capacity planning and deployments at the Boydton-based datacenter. He later accepted a position as a Regional Learning and Development Trainer for the U.S. East region. For the last four years Mr. Putorek has been a part of one of the most dynamic and impactful teams of his career, the Workforce Development team supporting Datacenter Community Development programs. This is the philanthropic arm of the Global Cloud Operations supporting the communities where they operate enterprise datacenters.
