Abby Karavanic assumed her role as Program Assistant for IALR’s Great Opportunities in Technology and Engineering Careers (GO TEC®) program in May 2024, marking a significant milestone in her career. Karavanic holds a Liberal Arts degree from Danville Community College and brings a wealth of experience in program development and organizational skills to her position.
Previously, Karavanic served as the Administrative Assistant to the VP of Workforce Services at DCC and has dedicated her time to volunteering as a board member for Collidescope VA, a 501c3 organization serving the Dan River region and the Arc of Southside. During her time at DCC, Karavanic was awarded the 2023 VCCA Staff Showcase Award.
Originally from northern West Virginia, Karavanic relocated to Danville in 2011 to be closer to family. Karavanic is preparing to plant more permanent roots and will soon close on her first home.
